So, were any of my NZ pals involved in this?
If any of you are wondering why Ms. Greer deserves glitter-bombing, Pink News and Diva explain.
The comments about how trans women would all change their minds if they were required to have ovaries and a uterus show how little Greer understands about what she is talking about. As was pointed out on Twitter earlier today, one of the first people to undergo male-to-female surgery opted to try a uterus transplant. The transplant didn’t take and she died. No one risks it these days, but it is still the holy grail of MtF surgery.
Right. Most trans women of my acquaintance (and I do really know at least a couple) wish it were possible for them to have working ovaries and a uterus.
I read about that, but didn’t realise it happened here! Go Queer Avengers!
I wish I had been there, but I know one of the people who was involved. So proud of them!
I’m a bit disappointed that the coverage over here didn’t even manage to mention which city it happened in. OTOH, if anyone does want to talk to Paris, I can probably put them in touch.
It wasn’t me, and til then I didn’t realise Greer was transphobic. I’m glad the story got top billing on the New Zealand Herald.

(Er, not that I’m claiming to be one of your pals! Just a nobody who was impressed by you at the NZ SF con a year or two ago.)
