I’ve spent a little while this evening moving over my Rugby for Gridiron Fans article from the old version of my site to this one. Thankfully it required very little updating, though of course there may still be errors.
Next up, Cricket for Baseball Fans. It is mostly written.
Techie stuff follows.
What it did do is highlight a few WordPress issues. Firstly, as you will notice, the CSS on those pages needs a bit of tweaking. This is where WordPress gets hard, because in adjusting that you may break something elsewhere. Ideally Pages and Posts should have their own sets of styles, but many theme designers don’t bother.
Secondly I didn’t really want the sub-pages appearing in the Extended Content menu. That’s the price you pay for using Widgets. If I’d coded the entire sidebar myself I would be able to configure it the way I wanted it. As and when I get time, I’ll take a look at the Widget code.
