The Festival of Contemporary Music dates back to 1930 and has featured world premieres by the likes of Stravinsky and Prokofiev, so choosing your national representative is serious business. The Welsh Assembly have just announced their pick. Who is it? No, not Tom Jones, nor Princess Charlotte. It is not even Katherine Jenkins or Bryn Terfel. They have chosen to send John Cale. I am so proud.
