Jennifer Rardin has made some interesting suggestions as to how World Fantasy Con might be improved. She’s talking about 2008, but Kevin and I are here at ConStruction with many of the people who will be running the 2009 event so I’ll be passing on Jennifer’s suggestions. I’ll certainly be talking to the good folks from the League of Evil Geniuses who know a lot about having fun at conventions (not to mention a lot about costuming). Obviously anything we do will need to be approved by the World Fantasy Board, and there is a possibility that one or two of Jennifer’s suggestions might not live up to their requirements for a prestigious professional event. But hey, maybe David Hartwell would like to have his face painted to not match his tie.
By the way, my apologies about the laptop thing. Live award blogging aside, mine would not have left my room if I had been lucky enough to be in the main con hotel. As it was, my hotel was too far away for me to want to go back there every time I needed to get online.
