And nothing to do with ToiletGate either. If Pride London was actually intended to discourage trans people from attending I don’t think they could have done much better than instruct said trans folk that they have to all dress up like drag queens (or football players if they are men).
I shall, in any case, be at the Diana Wynne Jones conference in Bristol that weekend.
It should be a shame parade. 🙁
It’s bad enough that no one thinks of the genderqueer. I kept seeing that in Prop 8 talking points, too.
It’s worse when it goes beyond mere omissions and into active disrespect like this.
If what they write is true, then those clowns are beyond redemption*. Why not a freak show, showing off trans people for money, while they’re at it? It would at least help up their finances a bit.
*Figure of speech. Very few people actually are; I guess they’re just so clueluess they couldn’t, as the saying goes, find a clue even if it was clue mating season and they were smeared in clue musk.
On the plus side, hey, the Diana Wynne Jones conference for the Wynne. With no offense intended towards any Pride organizer anywhere, Diana Wynne Jones has given me more consistent joy.
