Will Plant, who is an occasional commenter here on rugby issues, is selling a signed proof of Perdido Street Station on eBay. It doesn’t appear to be attracting a lot of interest, which is odd because this is seriously collectable stuff – the sort of thing Id be buying if I ever had enough money to be a book collector rather than just a reader. There have to be other Mieville fans reading my blog, right? Go bid.

£75 cheap? Why not.
Then again, I have a proof of King Rat, which apparently even China doesn’t have anymore.
Apparently it is to book collectors. This is why I don’t collect books (I just accumulate them).
Exactly! I too am an accumulator.
Holy Bad Timing, Batman!
I do like signed Mieville, and have a couple of nice ones (firsts of King Rat and The Tain among others) but I would suspect many would be collectors are still tapped-out from Christmas, I know I am. I’d love to have this nifty little number, but Alas! I’ve been on a Caitlin Kiernan kick the last couple of weeks and my secret stash is spent.
Thanks for the tip but unfortunately I’ll have to live with the hope that it’ll reappear someday down the road.
Best,
JKS
It hasn’t sold yet, Jonathan, and right now it doesn’t look like it will. Besides, Caitlin is seriously in need of help right now. I’m glad you were able to buy her stuff.
