I’m not going to make a habit of putting up notices about readings here. However, as a large proportion of my readership is in the San Francisco Bay Area it seemed useful to let them know of stuff that is close to home. I’ll probably do this about once a month.
We should start (because the first one is imminent, though see Borderlands below as well) with a set of readings promoting the very fine (so Matt Cheney tells me) ParaSpheres anthology. These are:
Sept 17th (2:00-5:00pm): Diesel Bookstore, 5433 College Avenue, Oakland – Charlie Anders, Robin Caton, Mary Mackey, Laura Moriarty, Carol Schwalberg and Gladys Swan.
Sept 28th (6:30pm): City Lights, 261 Columbus Avenue, San Francisco – Charlie Anders, Rikki Ducornet, Laura Moriarty, Rudy Rucker, Stephen Shugart, Mark Wallace, William Luvaas.
Sept 30th (5:00-8:00pm): Rebound, 1541 Fourth Street, San Rafael – Rikki Ducornet, Tom LaFarge, William Luvaas, Stephen Shugart, Mark Wallace.
Next up we have the monthly SF in SF readings hosted, as ever, by Terry Bisson.
Sept 28th (7:00pm): New College Valencia Theatre, 777 Valencia St, San Francisco – Ellen Klages, Madeleine Robbins.
And finally, at Borderlands Books.
Sept 17th (3:00pm) – Marcus Ewert, Susan Marie Groppi, Tim Pratt (from the Twenty Epics anthology).
Sept 23rd (2:00-6:00pm) – The 11th annual Tachyon Publications Party and Third annual Norton Awards presentation – Peter S. Beagle, Terry Bisson, Grania Davis, Ellen Klages, Richard Lupoff, Pat Murphy, Frank Robinson, and others
October 7th (3:00pm) – Kage Baker.
October 14th – the infamous San Francisco Lit Crawl.
