ConReporter Progress

The convention reporting web site is developing nicely. We now have people able to report in French, Spanish, Portuguese and Hebrew. Today I added two Montreal residents. But this is definitely a case of “the more the merrier”. I don’t have any Australians yet, or any Japanese, and I’d like to add a few more languages (German, Finnish?). Most importantly I could do with a few more people who won’t be attending the convention to keep an eye on the site while Kevin and I are busy at the con.

  1. If you still need folks to help keep an eye on the site, I could probably do it. It’s something I’m interested in, and might help keep away the ‘not in Montreal’ blues if I’m contributing somewhat.

  2. Is there going to be a URL where people can go to find all the reportage on a specific convention, or will it just have to be conreporter.com? I’m planning to throw a link there from Con-News just before I head out to Anticipation, and it might be useful if it still leads to Anticipation-specific coverage when you’ve moved on to a new con.

Given that most of the material is tweets and blog posts, and therefore highly transient, I’m not sure that there’s any point in going back to it. What I expect will happen is that after the con is over people will start posting longer, more considered con reports, and I’ll so an archive post that points to all that stuff.

What you might want to do a direct link to is the live Hugo Award Ceremony coverage.

Thanks for the link, much appreciated!
