This is a disaster. I wasn’t terribly happy about laws against “religious discrimination” to begin with, and now I see I was right. From now on all of the laws the UK has protecting people against discrimination of any sort are useless, because all that the bigots have to do is claim that they have a religious right to be bigoted. I’m sure it won’t be long before some bampot brings a case against an LGBT person claiming that their mere existence infringes his “religious rights”.

I may well post on this at some point, but right now — for once in my life — I’m actually lost for words, just too sodding angry to articulate in anything other than a bestial roar.
Me too, mate. I am having distinct difficulty concentrating on work today.
Un-f’ing-real! Someone’s religious views/convictions should NEVER be allowed to interfere with their job – especially if their job is in the civil service. In other words, if they can’t do the job because of their religious convictions, they shouldn’t have that job. They shouldn’t be allowed to have that job.
Sigh. Although if you really want to see where it can all lead, come and live in Malaysia. Believe me, you have it good.
‘”I am delighted at this decision,” Ms Ladele said. “It is a victory for religious liberty, not just for myself but for others in a similar position. Gay rights should not be used as an excuse to bully and harass people over their religious beliefs.”‘
Yeah. Because gays getting married is bullying someone — in this case a registrar who won’t do her job.
And so, all freedoms die, under enforced “liberty”.
I agree with Kerry: If someone can’t do the job because of their religious convictions, they shouldn’t be allowed to have that job.
Religious freedom laws — especially laws against the incitement of racial hatred — are very, very dodgy.
I’m annoyed now 🙁

It’s time to start the Church of Making People Do What They Don’t Like.
Oh, wait.
That’s already most of them.
