The 3.55 post referenced as AllWomens Talk @ Judith Lewis had a really interesting avatar .. if that’s the right term ? .. of a girl in a red dress that, try as I might, I can’t enlarge in detail enough to be identifiable. Is THAT Judith Lewis ? .. Gosh! Female Fans Never Used to Look like that ..though Ann Page did come close.

    Also someone wondered what his father would understand any of the words used in the last 45 minutes? At a guess his father would just Sigh a Sigh and say ” KIDS ! “Kiids are always Always assuming that their Parents just can’t KNOW of the Technological Wonder of it all and thus are incapable of inventing the Term ‘ Kiids ‘ to mean infants who use childish Technobabble ….Well Our Generation saw Star Trek when it was first broadcast and now buy the High Def Latest Version off Amazon, or it’s competitors, whilst writing a quick loc to Cheryl and wondering whether there’s sufficient Time to watch ‘ Elizabeth The Golden Age ‘ in their home cinema on the Plasma TV with 5.1 surround sound before viewing that live Broadcast from Eastercon of .. oh, what was it again?

    Poot! My Grandmother wouldn’t have been Impressed.

  2. I watched the Ustream version. I just looked at cover-it-live and found reading back-tweets boring. The video version I’d watch again, or watch it in non-real time.

    For the Ustream version, I found it interesting, if a little twitter-heavy.

    Why were all panelists not in shot? And who were they? The intros either got skipped or something. The name-panels were not visible once the screen went from static to video feed.

    Apparently there was no-one “in room” monitoring the ustream comments. We had several technical comments/questions along the way that apparently went unnoticed for quite some time. Some response from the room would have been nice, at least – ‘we’re working on it’ or something like that. Just a nicety.

    Apparently, according to one of the chatters, there are some settings that might be worth looking into for further updates via ustream.

    None of these would make me miss additional installments of a video feed (if I could help it). But stuff for thought.

    I HEARTILY ENCOURAGE more of this!! Even if a “virtual membership” were required.

  3. Is there a playback of the event somewhere? Live feeds would be be fine if you weren’t busy elsewhere but an i player type version would be welcome.

  4. As you know Cheryl, I just attended the CoverItLive virtual con show.

    Very interesting, and fun from my perspective. This moderated coverage aspect was what I felt was lacking with the ustream cast.

    Combining the two elements, even with “only” live audio, would make for a near-complete experience.

    All Women Stalk retweeted my tweet. That would be the sex robot referred to in the talk itself.

    I’m not as sexy as that avatar or I think someone would have noticed. ‘d hope…
