Wow, I remembering reading Melissa Scott a long, long time ago (Point of Hopes)
I was lucky enough to read this in its manuscript stage. It’s a charming homage to Sherlock Holmes with a wonderful magic system and compelling love story. Both characters are so well drawn and sympathetic; their overtures and withdrawals are so believable. I was rooting for them from the very start.
Highly recommended. If you liked her Points stories, I think you’ll enjoy this one, too.
